Mark Williams was awarded Local Hero at the Pride of Britain Awards and Inspirational Father of the year in 2012. He was also shortlisted for an award with Mind Media the same year. In 2016 he was chosen to meet the Royal Family on Worlds Mental Health Day 2016.
Mark has written about Fathers' mental health in several publications and has appeared on BBC Breakfast, ITV NEWS, Good Morning Britain and Channel 5. His story has been told in USA, Austraila New Zealand,Canada, Africa, Asia. He has also appeared in television documentaries concerning mental health including Channel 5's My Secret Past on Postnatal Depression with Jennifer Ellison. He is an author, blogger, vlogger and most importantly, an activist for mental health.
He has spoken on many radio stations including BBC Radio 4's Women's Hour, 5 Live, Radio 3, Radios Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Suffolk, Three Counties, London, Manchester, Berkshire, Surrey, Shropshire and Wiltshire.
To date, Mark has spoken around the World at over 150 conferences and events including The International Marce Conferance in Melbourne, The Royal College of Midwives, The Institute of Health Visiting, MIND, The NHS, Mental Health Day, World Suicide Prevention Day, Swansea, Huddersfield, London and Birmingham Universities, Warrington Wolves Rugby League Club as well as Primary Schools and Colleges, The Business Show, Homeless Charities, Parc Prison, LGBT Organisations, Perinatal Mental Health conferences, Men's Mental Health Conferences, Youth Organisations, CCGs and many independent Mental Health and Healthcare Conferences.
He also works with Dr Jane Hanley of PMH Training Training health professionals.
Mark has set up many projects and organisations including Fathers Reaching Out and Dads Matter UK and now works as a consultant to help other organisations build better Men's Mental Health groups. Mark has been involved with Youth Projects since 2003 and supports the Cardiff City Foundation.
He holds the Train the Trainer award and is known for his interactive and engaging teaching style.
He is a Volunteer Youth Worker at the Wyndham Boys & Girls Club where he coaches football and table tennis. He is a family man and a season ticket holder with his son Ethan at the mighty Cardiff City FC and will be cheering on the Wales team during their Euro 2016 campaign!
